Juliette Girl Scout Money Management Policy

In accordance with the Internal Revenue Service and Girl Scouts of the USA, Juliette Girl Scouts are not allowed to have bank accounts or hold cash. Therefore, Juliette Girl Scouts may hold funds in the form of council issued Juliette Program Credits.

Standards

• Juliette Program Credits (JPCs) are issued and redeemed at the discretion of River Valleys.
• JPCs are issued for proceeds earned in the Cookie or Fall Product sales, for funds raised from other Girl Scout money-earning activities, or as a result of a girl leaving a troop to participate as a Juliette (see Troop Funds Distribution Policy).
  • The Juliette Program Credit Deposit Form must be submitted in order to be issued JPCs for money-earning activities or funds from a former troop.
• Between December 2020 and December 2022, JPC’s were issued as a Program Credit via email. Starting in 2023 JPC’s will be issued in a physical card form.
• Paper JPCs cannot be replaced for any reason and cannot be exchanged for cash.
• It is the responsibility of each Juliette Girl Scout, along with her mentor, to manage her own JPCs. They are not individually tracked by River Valleys.
• Approved JPC uses:
  • River Valleys resident camp sessions
  • Council-approved day camps and official service unit encampments
  • Council-sponsored program events
  • Girl Scout shops and trading posts, including the mobile shop
  • GSUSA membership dues and lifetime membership
  • GSUSA Destinations travel
  • Council-approved Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador extended Girl Scout trips
  • Girl Scout-related field trips or activities (girl and one adult chaperone)
  • Completed Girl Scout Bronze Award projects
  • Approved and completed Girl Scout Silver Award and Girl Scout Gold Award projects
• Paper JPCs and/or Program Credit Card Number must be submitted at the time of payment for council-sponsored camp/program event registration, membership dues, or in council shops/trading posts. Change will not be issued. Any refunds will be issued in the form of JPCs or gift certificates.
• For other approved uses, a fully completed Cookie Credits, Fall FUNds, and Juliette Program Credit Reimbursement Form is required.
  • Include with the form for reimbursement:
    • Paper JPCs and/or Program Credit Card Number
    • Copies of receipts/supporting documentation for all expenses.
