All troops participating in the Girl Scout Cookie Program are encouraged to recruit a troop cookie manager and all Service Units are encouraged to recruit a Service Unit cookie manager to help manage the sale. The following Cookie Program training opportunities are intended for these two types of cookie volunteers.
For Troop Cookie Managers
Service Units will reach out to you with in-person training details. If your Service Unit does not have in-person training or you missed your training you are required to complete the online training.Self-Serve Online TrainingIn-Person/Virtual Training
Contact your local Service Unit cookie manager to find out when and where your in-person or virtual training will take place.
For Service Unit Cookie Managers
If you are unable to attend a virtual training session, please complete the online training below. If you are a new Service Unit Cookie Manager, read Service Unit Cookie Basics prior to completing the online training.Self-Serve Online Training
Complete the Service Unit Cookie Manager – 2024 Online Training if you were unable to attend the virtual training session. Remember that you must have attended a virtual training session or complete the self-serve online training as a part of your Service Unit level role.
Once you’ve completed your Service Unit Cookie Training, it’s time to train the troops! Connect with your troops to inform them of their training opportunities, whether you’ll be holding an in-person training or directing them to online opportunities. Use these resources to determine the option that will work best for you. The goal is to provide troops with a high-level overview of the Cookie Program, why it’s important, what participation does for the Girl Scouts, and general “how to’s.”
Troop Training Toolkit
In the training toolkit, we’ve included a training outline, training tips, and a presentation to lead you through the discussion. During training, don’t forget to direct troops to the Troop Cookie Responsibility Form available through Cookie Central. Responsibility forms are due by February 1.
