As your service unit’s registrar, you assist members in your service unit with the Girl Scout registration process. Encouraging accurate registrations ensures we have the most up-to-date membership numbers and that girls and volunteers are ready to go to participate in fun activities like the Cookie Program or camp!

Your Year at a Glance
Upon Registration: Role On-boarding
Once you sign up as a registrar, we have an online service unit orientation to help you understand your role. Then, each service unit volunteer must complete the position agreement every year, which includes a full position description.
August–September: Encourage Girl Scout Registration
Girl Scouts of the USA will send you a roster bi-weekly, which you will use to create and maintain records for your service unit.
September–October: Assist with Member Registration Prior to Snacks & Magazines
Ensure girls and troops who are interested in participating in the Snacks & Magazines fall product program are registered for the current membership year. The program begins on September 28.
November–December: Assist with Member Registration Prior to Cookie Program
Ensure girls and troops who are interested in participating in the Cookie Program are registered for the current membership year. The Cookie program begins on February 15.
April–June: Encourage Early Bird Registration
Send out reminders encouraging volunteers and families to become Early Birds by registering or renewing in advance for the upcoming membership year.
Throughout the Year: Assist With Troop Placement
Girls and families don’t always register at the beginning of the year, so you may need to assist with troop placement year round. As leaders accept or lose girls, be sure they update the troop catalog.
