(We’ve Got Girl Scout Spirit—How ‘Bout You?)
Apple picking, pumpkin carving, boots and scarves, crisp weather, pumpkin spice lattes, leaves changing—I am all about this October business. And in addition to all of this wonderfulness, October is full of some exciting happenings at Girl Scouts River Valleys—the start of the membership season (woot woot!), Spookamaga, Fall Product Program, Founder’s Day, and last but not least—Girl Scout Spirit Day on Thursday, October 29, 2016!
Girl Scout Spirit Day is a day of celebration that started here a few years back. It’s a day for girls to show their enthusiasm for Girl Scouts by wearing their uniform, pins, and other GS gear to school, and for leaders, volunteers, staff, and parents to take lots of adorable pictures. For leaders looking to add girls to their troops, Girl Scout Spirit Day is an excellent time to spread the word about troop meetings to potential new Girl Scouts and their families.
Parents are encouraged to share pictures of their girl in their Girl Scout uniform (or gear) on Facebook and tag Girls Scout River Valleys for a chance to win a pizza party for their girl’s troop.
There are few things more heartwarming than a newsfeed full of Girl Scouts beaming with pride – we can’t wait to see everyone’s Girl Scout spirit!
I hope your new Girl Scout year is off to a great start!
