Here we answer a list commonly asked questions related to cookie cupboards and planned orders.
What can you do at a Cookie Cupboard?
At a Girl Scouts River Valleys Cookie Cupboard, you can:
- Pick up a planned order
- Drop-in and pick up from available cupboard inventory
- Exchange full, bakery-sealed, unopened cases of 2019’s cookie varieties (except for Caramel Chocolate Chip)
- Bring in damaged packages and cases to be replaced with the same variety of cookies
Who can pick up an order?
Only troop cookie managers or troop leaders listed in Smart Cookies are permitted to pick up cookies at the cupboard.
What should I do before I pick up my order?
- Make sure you print a receipt of the order you have placed (this can be found in Smart Cookies).
- Clean out your vehicle to ensure that you have room to fit all the cookies you ordered.
Can I edit or delete my order information?
Order location and time cannot be changed after the Monday 6 a.m. deadline of the week that you are picking up. Troops can increase (depending on cupboard inventory) or decrease their order upon pick up at the Cookie Cupboard.
What happens if I can’t make it to my scheduled time?
If you do not make it to the time you have chosen, you can still come that day. If you do not pick up your order within the same day, your order gets absorbed into the cupboard inventory.
Planned Order FAQs
When do planned orders start?
- The first planned order is due Monday, February 11 at 6 a.m.
- The first pickup for that week will be Thursday, February 14.
When can I pick up my order?
Planned orders will be ready for pick up starting on Thursdays at all cupboards.
Please Note: Regional and Regional Express Cupboards have their own set hours of operation. Refer to your Smart Cookies dashboard for that information.
Any orders not picked up on their specified day will be absorbed back into cupboard inventory.
If necessary, troops can increase (depending on cupboard inventory) or decrease their order upon pick up.
Who can place a planned order?
Troop cookie managers or troop leaders in Smart Cookies can place a planned order for their troop. Service unit cookie managers can place planned orders for troops in their Service Unit. You can also call Girl Scouts River Valleys for any assistance or questions you might have about the order.

What will happen once you arrive at the cupboard?
If you are picking up a planned order, you will enter the planned order lane, or you will receive a flag for your vehicle to note you are picking up a planned order. Cupboards with a planned order lane include: Brooklyn Park, Roseville, Eden Prairie, and Burnsville. Cupboards with a vehicle flag include: Fridley, Maplewood, and Rochester. An order taker will come to your vehicle and you will sign for the cookies. You will then be issued a receipt and the cookies will be loaded into your vehicle.
How much time can you expect to spend when picking up your planned order?
You can expect to spend anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes depending if you arrived at the time you have specified for pick up.
Do you have a list of locations that have a planned order lane?
Can I visit the cupboards to get cookies without a planned order and how will I know what is in stock?
You can check cookie cupboard inventory for walk-in orders online. There is an inventory legend to show you the status of each variety at each cupboard. It is updated once a day and will denote when it was last updated.
