For Service Unit Cookie Managers
We are in the home stretch with two, full weekends left in the Cookie Program! We have troops still actively cookie boothing, setting up Lemonades Stands, rockin’ Business-to-Business (B2B) sales, and going door-to-door to give cookie customers the chance to stock up before Girl Scout Cookies are gone until next year. Our cookie cupboards are stocked with all varieties and the staff is ready to get you in and out in no time plus, Girl Scouts River Valleys is ready to help you “fin”ish strong in answering your cookie questions. This is also the time to work on your “last chance” for cookies marketing with your troop in anticipation of the final weekend (yes, it’s coming!) on March 25 and 26.
Bonus Donation Reward: Join Clicker Cares Club 2023!
Clicker is swimming to reach a goal to share Girl Scout Cookies with our Cookie Care donation partners: Second Harvest Heartland, Channel One Food Bank, and the American Red Cross. Girl Scouts River Valleys will donate cookies to these organizations that do a world of good right here in our area. You can be part of this council-wide effort and earn a bonus reward.
Introducing Clicker Cares Club! Earn this special button to show you were part of this collective effort to deliver Girl Scout Cookies to food shelves and for local blood donation and emergency assistance efforts. How can you earn this bonus reward? Girl Scouts that are credited with 12 packages or more of donations for Virtual Cookie Share in Smart Cookies will earn the Clicker Cares Club button. Here are a few ideas to get you started on the path to earning the bonus reward:
- Promote donations at your cookie booths for Virtual Cookie Share
- Collect donations from in-person sales and make sure to tell your troop leader these donations are for Virtual Cookie Share
- Share your online cookie sales link to promote Cookie Share sales through Smart Cookies Direct Ship and/or for online orders for local delivery (customers can donate towards Virtual Cookie Share plus stock up on their favorites!)
Each Girl Scout with 12 or more Virtual Cookie Share donations will also be entered in a drawing to be randomly selected to receive a special ocean friend Jellycat! We’ll announce winners in The Cookie Press in early April and reach out to them by email too. Clicker is dolphin-ately excited to add you to this club and thanks you for helping her make a difference!
Cookie Rewards Spotlight: Dream Team Preview & Online Sales Rewards
Each year, we host a special Dream Team celebration for Girl Scouts that reach sales of 1,000 or more packages. For 2023, we are thrilled to team with Nickelodeon Universe for an exclusive park buy-out for Dream Team Girl Scouts! The event is on June 3 from 7:00-10:00 am. That’s seven acres of exciting rides and attractions open only for Dream Team Girl Scouts and their guests. It’s gonna be a scream! For Girl Scouts that reach this level, we will send an email invitation in mid-April that will include details on the number of guests, discounts at Mall of America, the RSVP deadline, and more.
Online Sales Rewards
Using Smart Cookies has its rewards! Nearly 90% of Girl Scouts participating in the Cookie Program this year have launched an online account in Smart Cookies. Our special online rewards for sales using the Smart Cookies online sales links include the Cookie Techie patch for sales of 75 packages, the Go Bright Ahead Magic Sand for 150 packages sold, and at 300 packages the USB Sea Shell lights.
The following online orders will be counted towards earning the online rewards:
- E-cards for Girl Scout cookie delivery and direct-ship
- Social direct-ship
- Social Girl Scout cookie delivery orders
These orders can be viewed in your Mobile and e-Card Summary Report in Smart Cookies, so you can see who has earned or are close to earning these extra rewards. There’s still time to “tech it up” for Girl Scouts that are close to earning these rewards. The online rewards will be tracked by our staff outside of Smart Cookies and will arrive with the rest of the rewards later in May in the Service Unit reward shipment.
Support for You and Our Girl Scouts
Thank you to all the volunteers who have been a sister in helping other troops who are looking to transfer cookies. After two years of significant supply disruptions, we wanted to have enough cookies in our cupboards to meet demand and to ensure all Girl Scouts had opportunities to meet their goals. If you are concerned about the amount of inventory you have on hand, please complete the Finance/Inventory Issue Form, and we will be in touch with you to provide support. We know that unforeseen things can happen and we want all of volunteers, Girl Scouts, and members to feel supported.
Troop Direct Ship Orders & Crediting Girl Scouts with Sales
You can view any direct-ship orders credited to your troop in Smart Cookies by going to Orders and selecting Troop Direct Ship Orders. If the troop received any orders credited from customers using the GSUSA Cookie Finder, they will appear here along with any other orders the troop received from promoting their link. You can also view these orders on the Manage Orders screen. They will appear under one entry with the prefix TDS followed by the troop number until the orders are transferred to the Girl Scouts. Once all the cookies are distributed to Girl Scouts for credit, the troop entry will show “0” in the order detail.
It’s recommended to wait to distribute these sales to individual Girl Scouts until you are ready to order rewards. You can choose to credit each Girl Scout individually or use these sales to help those that are close to the next reward level with the opportunity to level up. To distribute these sales, scroll to the bottom of the screen and click on the Distribute Orders to Girls button. Select the individuals from your troop to distribute the cookies sold, then select Continue. You’ll see the packages left to distribute. Enter the number of packages for each Girl Scout and click on Save when complete. This process is like using the Smart Booth Divider where everyone will be credited with the number of packages sold but do not need to be credited with a financial transaction.

Cookie Spirit Award Winners
Let’s hear it for this week’s Cookie Spirit Award winners Jill Neumann and Patti Blair.
Jill Neumann (Monticello Service Unit): “Jill has stepped up in our service unit and as the leader of our troop to do an exceptional amount of work, as the SUCM and local cookie cupboard. She happily takes on projects to help our SU succeed, shares her ideas and successes with others, and gives so much of her time to the cookie season (and her entire garage!). I’ve never met someone so willing and dedicated to making cookie selling fun, easy, and successful for our girls. She is also great at getting our younger girls involved in the whole process, from cookie pickup day, to marketing and sales, and managing inventory and deliveries. Thanks for all you do, Jill!!”
Patti Blair (Kinni Croix Valley): “Patti is a long-time troop leader and shares her knowledge and experience with many other troops in our service unit. She has mentored her Senior Girl scout troop through over 10 years of successful Girl Scout cookie sales, and they have only seemed to get more and more motivated to achieve their sales goals each year. They are inspiring to the younger girls in our area and a wonderful representation of older girls in Girl Scouts. She supports her Girl Scouts’ leadership at Day Camp and resident camp and the Girl Scouts plans to travel to Australia and New Zealand. She has weathered the ups and downs of many cookie seasons but still has enthusiasm and is always ready to help other troop leaders and cookie managers and use her wealth of knowledge and experience.”
Both Jill and Patti will receive a $25 Target gift card and a big high-five from Girl Scouts River Valleys! Nominate a cookie volunteer for consideration today. Submissions carry over each week.
ACH Withdrawal Tomorrow
The first ACH (aka Automated Clearing House) withdrawal will be made from the troop bank account tomorrow, March 17. Review the ACH FAQs found on Cookie Central to help answer your questions. ACH withdrawal amounts will be reflected in Smart Cookies one to two days after the money is withdrawn from the troop’s bank account. You should have received an email on Monday, March 13 with the amount that will be withdrawn. Some troops will not have an ACH withdrawal, because they have more credit card deposits for girl delivery or direct-ship orders than the ACH amount. Those troops received an email on Tuesday, March 14.
Reminder to Update Cookie Swap Posts
Using the Girl Scout River Valleys Cookie Swap is a great way to find the Girl Scout Cookies you need help selling, or offload some extra inventory! Please remember to remove your old, no longer needed posts to keep the site from getting bogged down with irrelevant information. If you haven’t used this terrific tool, it’s a great way to connect with and assist other troops!
Invitation code: COOKIES23
Pro tip: When putting in your location make sure to add the state. For example St. Paul, MN. The site will automatically assign the state or country if it is not included, and that state may not be correct.
