Welcome to the 2020 Cookie Program! Each week during the cookie season, you can expect the latest edition of The Cookie Press fresh out of the oven and right in your inbox—delivering everything you need to know for your role as a Service Unit Cookie Manager or Service Unit Manager (or both!)
In this edition
The Cookie Press Troop Edition
Starting in December, the troop edition of The Cookie Press will also be included to keep you up to date regarding all aspects of the Cookie Program and your integral role in it.
Cookie Conference 2020
Hopefully you received the save the date, e-invitation, and mailed invitation to this year’s Cookie Conference! This year’s service unit cookie manager training will be held in a new conference-style format in which you will be able to take “courses” that fit your level of experience. This will be the one in-person training available and will be held at the following place and time:
13100 College View Drive
Eden Prairie, MN 55347
Registration for the Cookie Conference has closed. If you still need to register, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we can register you on your behalf.
Cookie Print Material Arrival
Cookie print materials and sample cookies will be arriving to your service unit cookie manager’s home address the week of December 2. This shipment will include troop and girl materials, a package of Lemonades for each troop, and an eight-pack sampler of cookies—which could also be a great addition to your in-person trainings with your troop cookie managers!
Contact your service unit manager or your volunteer support coordinator if you need help getting a list of troops to invite to your in-person training.
Cookie Rookie Kits Are Back
These kits are designed to welcome our newly formed troops to the Cookie Program and get girls excited about selling cookies. Each kit includes an apron, a “rolla–banner” to use at Cookie Booths, a bank bag, pencil, and My First Cookie Sale patches for all girls registered with the troop. Girl Scouts River Valleys will be automatically sending these kits to troop leaders of new troops that have formed since last spring.
Additionally, each Cookie Rookie kit will include the service unit cookie manager’s name and email so troops will know how to contact them with questions. If you’re a registered service unit cookie manager, it will be your contact information that’s included in these kits, which will be hitting mailboxes in mid-December and mid-January.
Cookie Rally Order
Hosting a Cookie Rally is a great way to kick off the Cookie Program that’s sure to foster enthusiasm and excitement! To help you plan your Cookie Rally, ABC Bakers crafted a Cookie Rally Guide that includes activities, tips, a sample rally agenda, and more.
To make your rally fox-tastic, you can order cookies and check out reward kits:
- Awesome cookies (with the new packaging) can be purchased for $1.50 a package, which includes free shipping. Girls can sample cookies while practicing their cookie pitch and deciding which one is their favorite.
- At the time you place your cookie order, you can also request a reward kit (while supplies last). The kit provides girls the chance to get a sneak peek at the awesome items they will be able to earn this season. Each order also includes free cookie tattoos and Tyvek bracelets featuring a cookie design. Super fun!
Cookie rally cookies and items can be ordered here. The deadline to place your order is December 20, with orders shipping the week of January 13. No late orders will be accepted, so be sure to order early. Cookie Rally patches will be available for purchase in Girl Scouts River Valleys shops.
