Beginning September 1, 2019, financial assistance for uniform and program materials will move from a paper application process to the main online application form, found on the Financial Assistance page of the main Girl Scouts River Valleys website. Applications will require pre-approval and must be submitted at least 2-3 business days before visiting a Girl Scouts River Valleys shop to allow for processing. Same-day applications will no longer be accepted.
Awarded amounts for uniform and program materials will follow the same general guidelines as other forms of financial assistance, but will be awarded as flat amounts based on the average cost of startup materials across all program grade levels.
Assistance for purchasing uniform and program materials now follows the same parameters as other types of financial assistance, allowing for assistance to be awarded up to four times per year for girl members, three times per year for adult members appointed to a volunteer role, and one time per year for non-volunteering adult members (only one of which can be used for resident or troop camp). Financial Assistance for uniform and program materials was previously awarded once per program year.
